After your first few scuba dives, you'll likely want to start exploring a bit deeper. There is something exciting and mysterious about the depth that attracts many divers.

The Fun Part

Exploring the deep is exhilarating. Get to know yourself and your personal limits by learning about deeper dives. Understanding how to safely dive at greater depths opens up more dive site and wreck diving opportunities.

 

 

What You Learn

  • Techniques for diving in the deeper range of 60-130ft (18-40m)
  • Deep scuba diving equipment considerations
  • Experience in planning, organizing and making at least four deep dives under the supervision of your PADI Instructor

This certification includes: 4 deep dives in open water.

 

What You Need

GEAR:   Full set of scuba equipment, plus a hood, gloves, flashlight and cold water wetsuit.

MATERIALS: PADI Deep Diver Manual and a new certification card.

PREREQUISITES:  You must be at least 15 years old to take this course. 

 


What's Next

  • PADI Wreck Diver Specialty  --  a natural next step because many wrecks are found at deeper levels.  Sometimes Wreck Diver & Deep Diver may be taken concurrently.
  • PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty --  great training to have for these deeper or longer dives. 
  • PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating  --  excellent next step if you're ready.
