PADI divemasters are eligible to take the next step to becoming a PADI dive professional. The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the training that will enable you to be one of the most sought after dive professionals in the world. PADI Instructors are among the most highly trained dive professionals. Earning your PADI Instructor rating shows you've completed the gold standard in training for dive professionals.
The IDC has two components Assistant Instructor and Open Water Instructor Program, given in-person over the course of 7 days. There are also several pre-requisites and additional requirements.

This spring IDC training is held at Aquatic Adventures in Alexandria, Virginia and local area pools as listed in the schedule below.

• 5/13/18 8:00am - 4:00pm Open Water location TBD (Make-up date)
This is a required course prior to IE. If you are already an EFR Instructor, this course need not be repeated. There is flexibility in this schedule for those needing to complete this course. This course is priced separately from the IDC.

Each of the above additional requirements is available as noted and fees are payable in addition to the above noted IDC course investment.
The final component to your Instructor level training is the PADI Instructor Exam. This is a 2-day exam held in a variety of locations each year. The only PADI IE scheduled locally for spring 2018 will be held at Dutch Springs in Allentown, Pa on May 19 & 20.
However, candidates are free to register for an IE in any location to which they wish to travel.
